What Is CrossFit To Begin With?
CrossFit was a training philosophy started in 2000 and has grown immensely. The philosophy incorporates many training methods from strongman to gymnastics, to plyometrics to weight training, from HIIT to calisthenics training. The idea is to bridge the gap between two different training methodologies and create on unique way of working out.
If you haven’t done CrossFit, you’re in for a treat. Typically CrossFit workouts are often tough, but this workout routine sort of serves as an introduction. It is comprised of 3 exercises: crossfit style deadlift, hang power clean & the push press, all while using 155 (or more) pound barbell.
Start off with:
Sounds all too simple, right? As your progress through each round, it gets harder. Right around round 3 or 4, your forearms become fatigued, grip fails, and your endurance is taxed to the limit. At the end, it comes down to how much pain you can withstand while holding on the bar.
If your skill level is not up to par with CrossFit, you can break up the exercise in thirds. For example, you can do three mini sets of four reps on the deadlift, three sets of three on power-hang cleans and three sets of two on the push-press. Do this only to help keep perfect form. Speed is not an issue right now, but the more experience you have, the faster you can complete the circuit.
